I’m 22 and been on a combo pill since I was 16. It did not affect me negatively until when I was about 20 I skipped a few periods on it, since then I have had absolutely 0 sex drive. Internally my vagina has no sensation (penetration used to feel good, now I feel nothing), I have trouble getting aroused at all, and I cannot be physically attracted to people. I cannot even remember what the sensation of being horny feels like, which is crazy because before I skipped periods I wanted sex 2/3 times a day.
I stopped taking the pill in December and had a withdrawal bleed/period. A stupid mistake led to me getting pregnant and I had an abortion at 5 weeks along in January. I have not had a period since then, and a trip to the gyno today revealed I am no longer pregnant (I wanted to confirm since most people get a period within 4-8 weeks of an abortion). They are going to give me a pill to force me to have a period if it does not come by the end of March.
I don’t want to rush things but I read all these stories of women quitting birth control and getting their drive back in 2 weeks to 3 months. I know my case is a bit more complicated but I’m just looking for some hope. Any women out there who have quit birth control and their drive did not come back for more than 4/5 months, did it ever come back? I’m losing hope.
