My experience : 1 Month w Nexplanon
Just giving an update since I feel pretty neutral about nexplanon currently. For background: I am 18 right now, completely average health - at 16 I got the Paragard IUD, and completely rejected it/pushed it out after a year and a half lol. Periods were insanely heavy and painful/period symptoms got severely worse w the iud, so I chose Nexplanon since it is the opposite and is supposed to stop periods/cramping. I got the implant inserted 3/26, had a big bruise surrounding the implant for 2 weeks? LOVED THE IMPLANT PROCESS SO MUCH MORE THAN THE IUD OH MY GOD. Area was numbed did not feel a thing besides the first numbing shot basically. I was out of service for a week after the iud, but w nexplanon I could actually live my life yayy. I started constantly spotting about two weeks after I got it put in, which is pretty light and so easy compared to what I was dealing with before. Emotionally, I can’t see a big difference since I have always had mood swings. MENTALLY HOWEVER, I have become very forgetful and absent-minded. Short term memory is NO WHERE and I get so freaking dizzy so easily. NOTHING COMPARED TO MY PARAGARD NIGHTMARE THO :D
