My experience : I’m switching from a combination birth control pill to the mini pill, is the mini pill less effective?

I’ve been on birth control for about 9 years & I’ve always had the combination pill. I recently switched to a new physician to refill my prescription & she got a high reading on my blood pressure (from anxiety I think) so she told me I can’t take the combination pill anymore or it will be unsafe. She decided to switch my prescription to the mini pill & im worried, I’ve heard a lot of things about it being less effective & causing more break through bleeding worse than on the combo pill (which I already had breakthrough bleeding with on occasion). After her being adamant I keep an eye on my blood pressure, I bought a monitor & my blood pressure went down significantly since her checking at her office. She still will not give me my old prescription so I’m not thrilled. Is the mini pill worth taking or should I see a different physician for this
