My experience : I'm worried about starting the shot (progesterone) any advice?
I started my period when I was 13 and ever since it makes my life hell.I get it for 8-10 days with half of those days being heavy and full of nausea and cramps. The amount of blood I was losing made me pass out and that's when my mom finally took me to the gyno. My mom is super against birth control because of all of the side effects and the risk of cancer. But she agreed to the birth control shot and I was excited. Then I started doing a bunch of research on the shot and all of the side effects are starting to scare me because 1.I can't afford the weight gain since I'm going into the military soon 2. Bone damage?? 3. The emotional mood swings,I have my episodes of crying and feeling like I'm gonna explode but they don't happen all the time.I just looked up the side effects on google and yt but idk how it will affect me,IDK how would affect me since everyone is different. But it seems like a good option since I only need it every 3 months and it will stop my period.I just don't know what birth control would be best for me. Any advice about options or the shot would be helpful.
