My experience : Is something wrong with my iud?

I’ve had my copper iud for a bit over a year now and it has not been easy, I always seem to be bleeding a little in between my periods and the cramping is really bad. However, my doctor told me that this was most likely going to happen especially since my periods have always been heavy. But today I had sex with my boyfriend after my period was finally over but it was painful. Now a couple hours later I’m bleeding and cramping and I’m getting worried, does my iud have a problem? Also I’m sorry if I used the wrong flair I wasn’t sure which one to use
