My experience : IUD strings too long? partner can feel them during sex

Hi all. I just had sex or the first time since having my IUD fitted and my boyfriend could feel them when he was deep. I did ask the doctor to cut them shorter due to his size, and he did, but he can still feel them. I don't particularly want to go through the agonising pain of getting them done and I'd have to get a referral to get them cut as I don't think my local GP can do them.

My concern that if every time we have sex and can feel them, does it increase the chances of displacing the IUD as the strings are getting knocked frequently?
