My experience : I’ve been bleeding on depo for two-3 weeks

I’ve been on Depo for almost a year and a half now and I’m trying to assess if something is wrong with me. Last year, aka the first year I started, I would have periods of time when I would spot for about 3 weeks. Very annoying. I went to the professionals asking if this was normal, and it is, but it should decrease after the first few doses.

Well, now I’m about a week away from my sixth injection, and I’ve had enough spotting to be an albeit light period, but a period for two weeks. Cramping as well, sometimes brown, sometimes red, sometimes clotty. This has been my worst bout since starting BC, and I was under the impression that it would get better over time and not worse. I keep expecting it to lighten up, and I had an appointment with my gyno scheduled but after a night of no blood I figured I was in the home stretch.

But now I’m so frustrated. I did not sign up for a period for multiple weeks at a time.

Any ideas as to why this is e happening/similar experiences? Is my body just in need of my next injection?
