My experience : Kyleena first period after insertion? Early, late, or on time? PMS symptoms?
I had my Kyleena inserted about a month ago and started my period around that same time. It was overall really light, which was pretty unexpected, and didn’t last long compared to my usual periods. I did feel more intense cramping than usual likely because of the IUD, but other than that it was a pretty tame and mild period. I don’t consider that to be my first period after insertion since they pretty much happened at the same time. Instead I consider this upcoming one to be my first.
My period should be coming literally any day now but weirdly enough I’m not noticing any PMS symptoms other than swollen breasts but that seems to have happened since getting Kyleena overall, not specific to this past week or so. My doctor said to expect it to come at the same time and described that after awhile of having it, periods can get much lighter or disappear.
I had a few intense cramps yesterday that I was sure meant it was starting because that’s usually how it goes with me, but almost as soon as they came they disappeared and no sign of period coming today. It hasn’t been long enough for Kyleena to make my periods super light, I don’t think, which is why I’m surprised my period during insertion was so light. I’m wondering if other peoples first periods after insertion were pretty normal or if Kyleena made them irregular immediately? Do you still notice PMS symptoms leading up to your period with the IUD? Or did anyone experience super light or nonexistent periods right away?
I also started taking a new medication but the dose is so small and it’s only been a few days that it shouldn’t be interfering with much.
