My experience : Dr telling me to continue pill when I don’t like side-effects.
I (20F) started taking Lo Loestrin pill on April 18th after being off birth control for 2 years. For the past 6 days (including today) I have been “spotting” sometimes heavier than others and w/ clotting. I told my doctor that this pill is giving me side effects of my period during this time (cramping, fatigue, craving) and that I am uncomfortable taking the pill. She told me to stay on the pill until our next visit on May 17th, but I stopped taking the pill 2 days ago. I decided to do this because on my past bc and without bc I have NEVER spotted. My period is set to start next Wednesday so having to wear a pad for the past week (almost) plus my period coming up is very uncomfortable. I was told that the spotting is just my body getting used to the pill, but I am worried to have been spotting for so long. Was it wrong of me for ending the BC mid-pack?
ps, I only started bc to help with acne, I am not worried about pregnancy at the time, so I am thinking about not doing bc at all and just dealing with the acne.
TL/DR: Started spotting mid-pack of Lo Loestrin for 6 days and counting, stopped taking the pills despite what my Dr advised. Is it wrong of me to be worried about spotting for so long after no history of spotting?
Im sorry, this is my first post, feel free to ask questions and give me advice.
