My experience : GF going through post birth control syndrome, any advice will help

So as the title says my (m27) gf (f24) of 3 years got her birth control implant removed from her arm (i don't know the actual name of it) during the beginning of March of this year after being on it for roughly 3 years. We were aware about some of the side effects of it and how it can cause depression or even mood swings but it has taken a huge toll on our relationship.

Ever since getting her BC removed, my girlfriend expressed how she constantly doesn't feel like herself and she is always feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, and depressed. We would bump heads over things that wouldn't have been an issue before she got her BC removed and she will go through bad waves of depression. Her sex drive dropped drastically and she feels as if she wants to be "free" or be more independent and not in a relationship. We are aware that it's possible for her to be attracted to other people typically not her type since her hormones are unbalanced but she says this isn't the case. She says she is in love with me, still attracted to me and doesn't want to be with anyone else but she feels like any kind relationship (platonic w/ friends or romantic w/ me) feels overwhelming ever since she got her birth control removed and just wants to be on her own. We recently broke up this past week and it has been such an awful feeling for the both of us. She has been crying because she still loves me and misses me but feels like her mental health isn't currently best for a relationship right now

I've read about other people's experiences on reddit and was surprised to find several people have been through similar experiences and it was heart warming to read that many women were able to come back to their "normal self" once their hormones balanced out after getting their BC removed. I guess I was curious if anyone had any advice during this hard time or even uplifting stories of similar experiences. The past few months have been dreadful but nothing hurts more than not being with her.

TL;DR - gf and I split up due to difficulties after getting her BC removed. Seeking advice and any similar stories or experiences
