My experience : my experience with the implant for the second time has not been the same. how odd!
my first implant (at 16) was hell. i had a period for the entire 3 years it was in there, with only the combined pill keeping it at bay. i was spotty, angrier and constantly afraid of the combined pill not working for me anymore. i didn’t remove it because hey, no babies at least.
had it removed last august and just stayed on the pill until may this year when i decided to get the implant back, i wasn’t comfortable with just the pill and wasn’t keen on the alternatives - and so far, no period, no spots, no anger, nothing! i’m very confused.
the only thing different is my age (19) and the placement, the first one was on top of my arm whereas now it’s at the back. was my body just confused the first time because i was 16 and never had any form of birth control prior? did the gap rebalance my hormones? idk. very happy regardless! glad to scrap the pill finally, i just assumed your reaction would always be the same.
something for everyone else to keep in mind i guess! just thought i’d share.
