My experience : Can i take Yaz in 21+7 system instead of 24+4?
I live in Europe so the name of the medication is different, but the point is my pills are 3mg drospirenone + 0.02mg EE taken in 24+4 system. My gynecologist recommended trying taking them in 21+7 system instead (just taking a longer break instead of the last three active pills) due to my breakthrough bleeding.
Is it really safe and will contraception remain the same? I know for example Yasminelle are basically the same pills but you take 21 and take a 7 days break, so I think it should be fine and it makes sense, but I want to make sure... Because why did they make Yaz 24+4 if it's the same ingredients as Yasminelle?
