My experience : worsening mood swings?

So I've been on the depo-provera shot for about 9 months now and although I was aware that mood swings were one of the side effects, I feel like they're getting worse as time goes on. Granted, I only start getting mood swings as the renewal window gets closer so about 3-4 weeks before but it's gone from okay to bad to worse. Last renewal window I even saw a therapist before and after getting the shot and even she commented on how drastic my shift in mood was and told me to talk to my doctor who essentially just told me to just wait till it evens out even though it's been almost a year. Now my renewal window is coming up and once again I feel like I'm losing my mind and just wanted to know if anyone else here has gone through the same thing? I'm seriously considering going off the shot but I want to know all of my options?
