My experience : Late period during BC

I thought I had skipped my period due to some weight fluctuating and I didn’t get it during the week I was supposed to (about 10 pounds) so I went ahead and started a new batch of bc ( I’m on junel fe 1/20) but after a week, I got my period. During that week I’ve had sex with my boyfriend, bc we haven’t seen each other in months. Don’t know if this is normal, should I start a new pack? Or continue taking the pack of bc I started?
