My experience : Spotting while skipping period

I (f21) have been on the pill for about 5 years. I don’t often skip my period but I’ve done it a couple times in the past. I’ve skipped my last two periods and I was about to skip my upcoming one, but I just started bleeding? I am also experiencing cramps. Is this normal? I’ve never really had spotting before while taking the pill, and only bleed when I don’t take the pill, so I’m not sure why I am suddenly bleeding. The blood is a light pink red colour. Thoughts? Anyone else have this? Edit: wanted to add that this is my first time skipping more than one period in a row.
