My experience : This might be a stupid question… but can I crush up my birth control to get a lower dose?

Long story short, I’ve only ever been on Lo Loestrin FE. I’ve used it for 7 years now. It’s a pill that only delivers a few micrograms of hormones. Never taken hormones otherwise. Due to financial issues, I had to switch to a generic brand that is 2-3x the dose I’m used to. I REALLY don’t want to deal with constant bleeding, nausea, etc etc as a result of going up doses. I’ll be off the birth control within 3 months (husband is getting snipped). But what I do till then? Can I crush it up and use half? If not, Are the side effects going to be awful?😭
