My experience : Irregular period 1 year after stopping birth control

So i was on hormonal birth control for a long time, age 14-22, and I decided to go off of it in September 2021 to see how my body would do without the hormones. The first couple months, I got regular periods that were very light and short, and i had bad cramps and depression symptoms.

Since the beginning of 2022 however, my cycles get longer and longer. They've gone from 35 days to my most recent cycle being 50 days. I bleed for maybe 24 hours or less and still have heavy cramping and aches for a couple hours, but my period before birth control, or during, was never this sporadic or light. I saw a gynecologist in February who wasn't that concerned, and my bloodwork was normal, but my cycles continue to elongate.

I've recently gotten out of a longterm relationship, and now that i'm single, i'm pondering the idea of getting the copper IUD, but i don't want to get on that and mask something else that could be a potential problem, so I don't really know what to do.
