My experience : IUD or Nexplanon?

Hi everyone! I recently visited my gyn and she recommended either an IUD or nexplanon. I was wondering if any of you could share your experiences, I was previously on a low dose combination pill but now I want something more secure and more effective. My worries with he IUD is it potentially getting dislodged or lost up there and of course the process of inserting it. For nexplanon I am scared of the potentially scary side effects like a never ending period and weight gain etc. I know everyones experiences is different so hopefully hearing about other peoples experiences will lead me in the right direction of what I want. Thank you!!
