My experience : Late period (5 days) after having stopped birth control

I'm coming here to ask something for my girlfriend. So she started using a hormonal patch around 2 months ago, having stopped after a single month of usage. After having stopped, she had some bleeding which seemed completely normal, and what we both think was her period. However, right now, her period is 5 days late and we're extremely concerned. Have tried looking it up and I'm unsure if it could still be hormones since she only used it for 1 month. Could hormones really still be unbalanced even after such a short usage? Or should we be concerned it might be a pregnancy?
