My experience : Yaz statistics for clots (PMDD)

I’m 42. A new OBGYN prescribed me Yaz for severe PMDD.

My family medical history is full of blood clotting incidents. Stroke, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis…

She said my family history doesn’t matter because I’ve never had an issue myself, and I’ve been through two pregnancies (when your chances of clots goes way up) with no physical issues (except my son born at 35 wks, but no complications).

But I have a complicated medical history: history of Lyme (known for causing clots) which I was treated for for years, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, and an MTHFR mutation.

But, again, my PMDD is severe. And the other two options, lupron or surgical menopause (oopherectomy), are much more invasive and have side effects I don’t want.

Anyone have ANY advice? I’m so confused.

Also, does anyone know the actual stats on number of clotting incidents per people who take Yaz?
