My experience : Could my birth control not be working properly?

Hello!

So I started almost 3 weeks ago a birth control pill similar to Slynd (different brand tho) and USUALLY, if I was not on the pill, I'd be having my period by today...

So, I've been having super similar PMS symptoms (I think everyone hates me, unable to leave room, extreme hunger, anxiety, tiredness, etc) but I honestly thought this was JUST side effects of the pill, except TODAY I went to the bathroom and my on-going spotting I had since starting the pill turned into proper blood flow, bright red, clots...

I mean, I'd think this is a period, but how can this be one if you are not suppose to ovulate on drospirenone? What is going on?

Could this pill be working as an mucus thickening and I'm actually ovulation and this is a period?

What do you guys think?
