My experience : False pregnancy test after less than one week

Unprotected sex on Friday(day next shot was due), switch to birth control pill the following Sunday. Took pregnancy test yesterday, Tuesday, which came back negative. Could this have been a false negative? Had light spotting and stomach pain and stress. Read that these are symptoms of switching to the pill, but they are also symptoms for pregnancy. What are the chances that the test was false negative?

Edit, slight nausea as well
