My experience : i think i felt the plastic part of my iud

i got my copper iud in june, i haven’t had any problems with it besides obviously bad cramping during my period. i was feeling up there with my finger last night and thought i felt the plastic part of the iud, but now i’m not sure. i’ve never checked for the strings before so i’m not sure what those feel like at all, but whatever i felt did seem kinda hard. i checked again like five minutes later and couldn’t feel anything. so now i’m rethinking what i felt, am i just paranoid?? my doctor can only get me in as soon as two weeks to check if it’s in place, should i use another contraceptive until then?? i’m also on my period, so maybe i’m just slightly dilated and was able to feel it for a second?
