My experience : Period still not back to normal after 6+ months since Mirena IUD removal
Hey everyone, I would like some insight or if anyone has some experience with this before. I am 23 now and was on the birth control pill for 4 years and then in September 2021 I switched to the Mirena IUD. I had the IUD in for almost 7 months and then I got it removed in late March of 2022 as I was still experiencing depression, anxiety, and lack of sex drive like I was also having on the pill.
My period still has not gone back to normal, I have been attributing it to being on the pill for years prior but I am kind of getting scared that there is something wrong. Before I was on any birth control, my periods were extremely consistent and came exactly on the 28th day of my cycle every time. They were heavy-ish and I got cramping, headaches, etc. but nothing I thought was abnormal. Now, they have about 2-3 weeks in between and are WAY lighter in flow, I get like no cramping and I am afraid that my lining is nonexistent and am scared about having kids within the next 10 years. It feels not normal as I’ve heard people say their normal cycle has returned after 3 months and I am going past 6 months of it still being off. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
