My experience : Will my IUD strings curl?

Hey all. I am new to my IUD but I did get the strings cut because they were poking and itching me like crazy. When I feel them now I’m guessing they’re maybe like 3 cm long? Is that a length where overtime they’ll still soften up and curl around the cervix? I can still feel them, but like I said, it hasn’t even been a full two weeks yet. Thank you!
