My experience : Starting Slynd - Need Advice
F25. I just ordered Slynd from Felix (an online BC provider). This is my first time on hormonal birth control. My partner and I used condoms and the pull out method for 5+ years with no issues. However, I accidentally got pregnant and had a medical abortion 2 weeks ago. I am choosing to go on birth control pills until my partner gets a vasectomy in a few months (long wait times here).
Since this is my first time on hormonal BC I’m kind of nervous and don’t really know how best to use it. Should I start it at a certain time in my cycle? I am not sure where I’m at in my cycle because I just had an abortion. Should I wait until my next period to start?
What has been your experience on Slynd? I chose it because I read there are more side effects with estrogen in combination pills. Should I expect it to stop ovulation? Should I take ovulation tests to make sure it’s working? How will I know it’s working?
What apps are good for reminding me to take it?
Should I skip the placebo pills?
Any input would be helpful!
