My experience : Is this normal with paragard?

So I got paragard back in March and I think I’m getting my period but it’s more like spotting and it’s not full blown yet. I had sex for the first time on paragard a week ago and I’m just wondering if this is normal for a period to just spot at first. It’s like the blood will be light then dark then light again.
