My experience : Irrational fear of blood clots and birth control
I used the Nuvaring for about a year at one point. It was the only birth control that worked for me without causing terrible side effects. However, I’m really scared of the blood clot side effects- maybe it’s exaggerated in the media but I’m not sure. I’ve heard of women going blind and even becoming paralyzed.
It’s very important that I can on birth control, because I’m on medications that can cause birth defects. And I don’t trust condoms alone, as well as plan b being expensive if needed.
Can someone help me deal with these fears? Is it really a high risk? Hard to find information.
Especially with Roe being overturned-although I would hope I never needed an abortion but with the potential of severe birth defects I need to find something that works.
Edit: I also vape like crazy but I’m trying to cut back. It’s extremely difficult. I’m 26 years old.
