Hi, so I'm getting my first IUD and I was wanting to get some advice and hear some stories about people who got theirs in the UK, I feel like most stories on here are for America.

Is there anything I need to do before my appointment? Like should I shave? And is there anything I can take before to help with it? I have already been told that they won't give me any pain meds/relaxers so that's made me a bit annoyed.

How did you find the insertion and what should I expect during/after it? I have heard things already from the doctors but I want some advice from people who have actually had it.
