My experience : Looking for a birth control method that won’t cause acne or anxiety. I tried Yaz generics and it made be so moody and didn’t do anything for my hormonal acne. Currently using condoms. Any insight?
Hi all! I really could use your help. I took birthcontrol for about 1.5 years, and have been off of it entirely for almost a year now. I’ve only tried generics of Yaz (Jasmiel, Nikki, Loryna, Gianvi and Vestura). None of them really did anything for me in terms of helping acne, but they made me incredibly moody. The only one that I noticed I wasn’t as moody was Gianvi. Then, it got discontinued and I was put on Vestura. This gave me worsened anxiety, breakthrough bleeding for 2 weeks, and oddly enough 2 false pregnancy tests during the breakthrough bleeding. My doctor said there aren’t differences between generics, but didn’t help to provide me with one that didn’t cause anxiety. After this, I dropped BC pills.
I want to potentially revisit pills (not sure which ones to try) or getting an IUD. My main cause for concern and research is that I don’t want something that will worsen my anxiety and hormonal acne. I also don’t want to have any severe bleeding outside of my period.
Any thoughts?
Fyi I just started spironolactone about 6 weeks ago for hormonal acne
