My experience : Non-stop spotting/bleeding on a new pill. When to ask for a replacement?

Hello. Just started on Alesse 21 pill 2 weeks ago. I started it on the first day of my period, but it seems like it never stopped since. I still get spotting/bleeding daily. And it is honestly torturous. I have always had heavy periods and part of the reason for going on bc was to make them shorter. I am already anemic. When is it safe to say that this pill isn’t for me and see a doctor about changing the prescription?
