My experience : Slynd Experience? Positive if Possible Please?

Hi all,

I'm really hoping to get some reassurance. I just took my first Slynd POP and I'm nervous. I haven't been on birth control in 15 years (43 yo).

My husband and I have done really well at not getting pregnant (we already have two kids) and I have ocular migraines so I actually didn't think I was a candidate for BC anymore. (That's on me for not doing further research and talking to my doctor).

My dr's consensus is (and I believe) that I'm going through perimenopause and have been for years now. The progesterone only pill is an attempt to help with my debilitating anxiety which only began when I started experiencing perimenopause. The fact that it will also prevent pregnancy is actually just an added bonus as this is mainly for mood stabilization.

Prior to getting pregnant 15 years ago, I was taking orthro tri cyclin and I had zero side effects. It prevented pregnancy and with no side effects I had no complaints. Of course, now that I'm older and I have heightened anxiety, I'm totally overthinking it taking BC again and I'm worried. I just don't think I can deal with MORE anxiety

I've been taking Zoloft for years but the breakthrough anxiety is real and NEVER used to happen prior to perimenopause. In fact, I had only experienced one panic attack in my life in my mid-20's and that was during a very stressful event. Now? I have to keep Xanax with me at all times. I've done a TON of self work and reflection and I'm pretty much able to belly breathe through most panic attacks but I need them to stop! I even went through a period of time when I couldn't go anywhere alone because I was so worried I would have a PA in public alone.

Basically - if anyone can help ease my mind. If anyone has a positive experience with taking Slynd (or progesterone only pills) I would really appreciate hearing it.

The impact of anxiety on my life has overshadowed my concerns about BC side effects and that's why I'm taking the plunge but I would love to know if anyone can help put my mind at ease.

Thank you so much in advance! XOXO
