My experience : Trying to stop or limit IUD spotting

I got my mirena IUD inserted July 1, and I know it’ll take awhile to stop spotting and for my period to go away (this is my second IUD). But I am planning on meeting up with my friend for some nsfw fun and I’d love to not be bleeding. I’m bleeding lightly, dark blood. I saw a few articles about taking ibuprofen to lighten bleeding one source being from the national library of medicine. Does anyone have experience with this? I have noticed when I do take ibuprofen for pain management my spotting hasn’t been too bad. I don’t want to take a bunch of them, another cite says 800mg up to 3 times a day, I won’t do that. But my prescription is for 800mg and I’ll probably take one of those, I am cramping as well the last few days.

I can try it and report back on if it works! Does anyone have other tips besides embracing the “period” sex?
