My experience : Bleeding on progesterone only pill.Will Mirena coil be the same?

I've had a DVT so can only have progesterone only. Started Cerelle two months ago whilst waiting for the IUD and I've been bleeding lightly ever since. I'm having the Mirena IUD in a week. I'm concerned that this bleeding won't ever stop....and having the Mirena is a waste of time if it's going to be the same as the pill. I do have the copper coil currently which is out of date (hence the change). But with my age they said the Mirena would be better (I'm 43). Anyone have any advice?
