My experience : Break through bleeding! Please help!

So I havent had a period since February of this year. I’ve been on birth control to help with the torture of my right ovarian cyst and can I just say, the first few months were absolutely BLISSFUL without a period. I did have cramps but nothing I couldn’t handle. I felt like a real person again. I’ve been working hard all summer and I’m currently about to go home for a little rest and I’ve started to have some break through bleeding for the past 2 weeks now. I’ve had it before when I failed to take my pills on time and missed a few but as soon as I went back on track for a few days it was gone but this time it is a lot heavier than before. Not enough to be considered a period but still enough where I think a pad would make me feel more “safe”. Currently on my second week of this last pack and I plan to finally take that 7 day break of agony with the placebo pills. Does anyone know if this will potentially stop the break through bleeding and cramps? Or am I wasting my time :/. Please help!!
