My experience : Full period on 3rd week of active pills after skipping period. Should I just stop taking them?
Hello! I’ve been on my current brand of the pill since January 2022 and I successfully skipped my period in June. I tried to skip it again in July, but I began spotting during my first week of active pills in the new pack (which I started in the last week of July) and have not stopped. I’m on my first day of my 3rd week of active pills now and the bleeding/cramping has increased to pretty much a full period. I guess my body didn’t like skipping 2 periods in a row! My questions are:
-
Should I just stop taking my active pills and let my period happen? I have 6 more days until I was “supposed” to get my period.
-
Is this any cause for concern? I’m figuring my body just doesn’t respond well to skipping periods but spotting for the entirety of my active pills this month (over 2 weeks) and then getting a full period prematurely is a bit strange to me, especially given I’ve been on BC for a while now.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help
