My experience : Question about combined pill and pregnancy
My period came twice in June and not at all in July. I have not taken any form of birth control up until this point. I was waiting for my period to start so I could take my birth control on the first day of my period but I didnt want to wait any longer since it wasn‘t coming so I started the combined pill on August 2nd. Since I did not wait for my period that would mean it will only be effective after 7 days of use.
On the second day of taking it I took it 3 hours late. I read online that it is very important to take it regularly on your first week because otherwise that can trigger ovulation and because of that I‘m scared of having unprotected sex after the my birth control is supposed to start protecting me from pregancy.
Should I be worried? For how long should I use a second method of contraception (condoms)?
Also should I be worried about its effectiveness given that it‘s going agains my natural hormone cycle because I started it mid-cycle?
