My experience : I wanna try stopping the pill but I'm really scared
Hello!!
So I've (21F) been on the pill for 5 years maybe. I was also on depo provera for one year and it really messed me up so the pill was the "best" one for me apparently.
I believe that since I started the pill, my mental health went downhill and I gained a lot of weight. I came to the conclusion that I don't want to use a hormonal based birth control. I also have zero libido, which makes the use of birth control super pointless if I'm never in the mood.
My doctor doesn't want me to have the copper IUD (which is what I wanted initially) because I have a "very heavy flow" and it would be worst.
I'm sorta apprehensive to only use condoms with my bf but I can't help but think a hormonal free life will benefit me greatly, I'm in no position to have kids.
Has anyone here stopped taking the pill to only use condoms? How did it go?
