My experience : Switching from a higher dose IUD to a lower one (ex. Mirena to Skyla) - anyone with experience?

Hello to the lovely women of r/birthcontrol !

Has anyone tried transitioning from the Mirena to a lower-dose progestin IUD? There are dozens upon dozens of posts in this group detailing the horrors that these IUDs have inflicted on our hair, however, I am desperate to avoid a TE shed. After being on Mirena for 6-7 years (two different IUDs), I can only imagine the shock my body will experience if I were to go cold turkey.

That being said, I started getting systemic hormonal systems after the insertion of my second IUD - acne, seb derm, increased hair thinning, cysts, frequent irregular bleeding, low libido, etc. So I'm ready for a gradual change back to my hormonal baseline!

Has anyone else followed a similar route? Or is considering it? Please share!
