My experience : Misplaced IUD?
I’ve had a Mirena for about 2 years now and it’s been absolutely great! No periods, no cramps, nothing. Recently I started bleeding and having some pain, especially after sex, and just general cramping every so often.
It’s not excruciating but it’s really noticeable and happening daily. I went to the doctor today to get it looked at, he said that he couldn’t see the strings at all. He assured me it was nothing to worry about and that my string is likely inside my cervix. He didn’t push it further and now I’m left feeling unresolved. I obviously trust the doctor but not being able to see the strings feels like a red flag. Would you get a second opinion? Or has anyone had this happen before?
