My experience : Paragard or Mirena?
I’m considering an IUD but, honestly, im terrified of having an adverse reaction, even more so than the pain many people report during insertion. I don’t know which one to go with, or if its best for me to stick to no iud.
A bit of background about me:
-Im 24 and have never been pregnant
-
I’ve tried the pill and the nuvaring and felt awful on both. My side effects were depression, anxiety, and low sex drive
-
I’m currently on no birth control. I feel much better and my periods are pretty manageable
-
My biggest worry about Mirena is that the hormones will worsen my depression and anxiety and lower my sex drive. I already struggle with mental health and low libido, I dont need it to get worse
-My biggest worry about Paragard is the heavy periods and bad cramps
Any thoughts or experiences you are willing to share will help me make a decision.
