Obstetrics - Is an ultrasound sufficient in this case? (Lump near c section incision):Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Is an ultrasound sufficient in this case? (Lump near c section incision)"

Hello, 6 months post partum,

I’ve had a painful lump (approx 4.5cm long) just above my incision on the upper left. I got an ultrasound and was told nothing was showing, just tissue and it was likely scar tissue or similar.

However this lump is irritating and sore at times and quite prominent. Would ultrasound detect any worrisome abnormalities? Should I be ok just accepting that it is scar tissue now and not seek anymore scans? (Admittedly I am health anxious)

Also, is it normal to still get twinges and odd occasional stabbing pains around that area 6 months post partum?

Thank you!
